Palmarosa is a wild herb that can grow up to 3 meters high, with slender stalks, fragrant leaves, and flowers on the top. The flowers will change from blue-white to dark red with maturity.  It grows wild in dry areas, on the banks of the Ganges, all the way to Afghanistan.  

Playing a major role in Indian pharmacology, Palmarosa’s essential oil and dried grass are used in Ayurvedic therapy.  Indigenous people on small Caribbean islands often use palmarosa to make beverages or as skin lotions.
