Lavandin is a fragrant evergreen shrub, larger than lavender, and is a hybrid of lavender and spike lavender. It can grow to 3 feet in height. The thin linear leaves bloom with blue-purple flowers. The whole plant is full of oil glands, covered under star-shaped hairs. The top of the flower is a dull grayish blue. It grows naturally on the coastline of Spain, France, and Italy, and is commercially produced in these countries.
Lavandin is used mainly for its fragrance. Because of its composition and floral fragrance, it is loved by aroma therapists and makeup artists.
